TechBrick: April 17, 2008:
Atlanta World Championship
We went, we competed, we'll go back... Here
are the highlights of the event.
You can see all
the photos and video from the links above.
Enjoy...

Rachel, Amy, Mark, Brady, and Matt venture to
Atlanta to compete with the best in the world.

More than 300 teams from the best of FLL, FTC,
and FRC joined together in the Georgia Dome.

Our rental van, home to 9 of use for two days of
travel, looked great with our signs on the side.

Our now annual tradition: Eat at the VARSITY in
Atlanta.

Our booth in the pits. Dozens of FLL teams came
by to thank us of our worksheets and other
resources.

We are interviewed by the technical judges.

Dean Kamen opened the event.

Our robot did what it was designed to do over
and over again.

The team ready to head to the dome for the next
round.

Round after round they battled it out with our
sponsors proudly and prominently displayed.

Each round the teams had to work together.

Our good friend, Joe Perrotto, was given the
volunteer of the year award.

Our great waitress at Johnny Rockets made us a
special ketchup plate.

The surprise guest was former president George
Bush.

He motivated our young engineers to take on the
world and find solutions to our nation's future
needs.

The rest of our crew cheered us on from the
stands.

The parrot, who is ridden on every robot for the
past 5 years, was hanging on for his life in the
rough and tumble competition.

Thanks to Michelle and her crew for making the
event a great success.

The path from our house leads to the '09 worlds.
Are we ready? You betcha.
