April 23-26 three of our teams headed to St. Louis for the US FIRST World Championships. For four days we mingled with about 12,000 kids from 51 countries aggregately displaying a dizzying array of technology solutions to the various challenges. Our teams did well and continued to learn new lessons and reinforce lessons learned throughout the season. There were leaders from every major corporation and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar spoke to all the teams and played basketball against an FRC bot. Dozens of colleges vied for the attention of the students. Industry leaders from a wide range of technology disciplines had full trade show booths setup.

More than 20,000 people jammed the stands to watch the final rounds. Click on the panorama for a really big version

Mark Hoppel, one of our FTC/FRC members, ran an encryption contest. A member of FTC 154 won a custom shirt and scarf.

Our FRC team did better and better as the days went on. They ended with four great rounds in which they were the significant scoring bot.
