Great LEGO Boat Race VIII

On Saturday July 9, 2011, we held our Great LEGO Boat Race VIII.  80+ folks attended sporting 31 boats of various shapes and sizes.  They had great fun, consumed 20 pizzas and 120 cans of soda. And learned great lessons in engineering. New team mentors and leaders from a number of local elementary schools joined as well. TechBrick has been advising these emerging teams. We also demonstrated our FTC bots (Teams 7 and 4234) and gave a SeaPerch demo (see our SeaPerch photos.)

There we amazing boats of all sizes and shapes. Many with great details and stories. This is the point of what we do at TechBrick through US FIRST: Help young engineers learn what it takes to design, plan, and build great technology.

Special thank you to the Shulgach's for sharing their wonderful home. Special thank you to Emma Loftus for the great photography. And a special thank you to Baltimore Channel 2 News Baltimore (WMAR) for sending Peter O'Neal, a most excellent producer/director, to cover our event.
