TechBrick Public Service: LET'S GO Boys and
Girls
TechBrick
has been involved in advising a new national
STEM curriculum offering. This is a hugely
exciting program. Please read below and visit
the LGBG website to learn more. If you attend
or have a Boys & Girls Club or YMCA in your town
that would like to introduce a successful STEM
program Dr. Corky Graham would like to
talk to you.

LGBG Mission
To enable out-of-school organizations,
especially those focused on the underserved, to
deliver fun, hands-on STEM education activities
to grow the number of students entering
technical career pathways.
LGBG Vision
Our county is facing a significant shortage
of scientists, engineers and mathematicians.
Over 20% of the current professionals in
technical fields will be retiring in the next 10
years. Today 50% of our scientists were born in
foreign countries. But this will not be the case
in the future as foreign born students attending
our technical universities are returning to
their home countries in far greater numbers. We
need more American born students entering our
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
educational pipeline.
About
LET'S GO Boys and Girls
LET’S GO is a new program that will inspire
and support boys and girls to become
professionals in technology fields so vital to
our county. Women and minorities are under
represented in technical professions. For this
reason, we are focusing our attention on girls
and boys with minority backgrounds from low
income, under-served communities. These children
are not receiving the encouragement and the
guidance to help them become STEM professionals.
LET’S GO Boys and Girls! With our help, you can
do it!
The LET’S GO program is up and running at the
five Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne
Arundel County through generous sponsorship of
five companies and a team of staff and
volunteers. We are ready to help others
replicate elements of our LET’S GO program in
your Boys & Girls Club or other venues. We are
not standing still. We need more sponsors and
more volunteers to make the LET’S GO program a
go.
We need you to study hard, go to college and
become a professional in the exciting fields of
technology. LET’S GO (Leadership, Engineering,
Technology, Science Generating Opportunities) is
the right program for you. LET’S check it out! |
